Buyer Resources

BUYING a home is the single biggest investment a person makes in their lifetime. It is a privilege to be able to represent my clients in that journey, and it is something I do not take lightly.

Where do you begin?

  1. Research and vet your A-Team which include your realtor and your lender. Start online. Look at reviews: what are their customers saying? Ask friends and family on their referrals for lenders and realtors. Who have they used?

This is a BIG decision. Questions to think about? Is the person you are hiring accessible? Are they seasoned? How long have they worked in the area you want to purchase in? If you have a question at 10pm at night, how quickly do you get a reply back? And who answers?

  2. Pre-Approval. Understanding your financial picture is a crucial first step that Buyers may put off at first. I cannot stress getting all your numbers in order. Your lender/mortgage broker can determine what you can afford, and offer suggestions for downpayment assistance programs you may qualify for. Once your pre-approval letter is ready, we’re off to go shopping.

  3. Wish List. Want versus need. What are your top needs? Accessibility to freeways? Backyard? Condo living? Garage space? Room to grow? City versus suburb? Once you determine your priorities, my expertise is finding you options that include off market opportunities as well as specific neighborhoods or areas you may not have been aware of.
